I love going to the library. . . the books everywhere. . . oh, it’s lovely.

I used to go to our library and get lots and lots of books every week, but now my family has a large collection, being accumulated over years of home schooling and and many bookworms growing up in the house, and my being one of them I also have a large collection, but I haven’t read all of our wonderful and vast collection yet, and it will take me many a day before I do. My favorite are my old books. The ones I find mostly at thrift stores, or possibly a garage sale or two.

I honestly don’t really read much of the new, or popular books usually. I much prefer old classics– Jane Austen, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Dickens, Louisa May Alcott, Bess Streeter Aldrich, C.S. Lewis. . .

Susan, Lucy and Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis.

I also have a great appreciation of good comics, like Tintin,ย the book I’m holding here. And, of course, stuffed animals.

And so, I still go to the library every week or so, but usually I don’t bring home many books. I’m reading, or waiting to read, too many. That’s what comes of having such a bookish family! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. You have brought back glorious memories, dear Amalia.
Books are one of the greatest joys of Life. When I was a little girl, going to the p
public library was one of my favorite treats. When I was in the third grade, still in the USA , I loved roaming and rummaging through the shelves. My favorite (apart from the Bobsey Twins, which your mom may remember) were bios of Louisa May Alcott. I read everyone. For some reason I was intrigued by her life and she has been a great impact on mine.
Fast forward – my grandkids love to read and a visit to the bookstore is always a special treat, first place tie with the candy shop …

  2. I’m in love with books. I love the journey each book provides me. When I need to escape this crazy world; I just get a book and it’s the best experience ever! My kids love to read as well. I can never get bored with a book.
